Since its launch in 2009, bibico has caught the attention of the fashion savvy in the ethical marketplace with its collections of stylish, sexy, easy-to-wear pieces that promise to become wardrobe favourites. The lady behind bibico is Spanish designer Nieves Ruiz-Ramos. With over 10 years of high street experience, Nieves started up bibico out of the desire to make fair trade fashion a real option on the high street.
Nieves designs showcase the traditional skills of her producers – women who are transforming the vulnerable communities they are a part of. bibico uses hand-woven fabrics, exclusive prints and crafted knitwear and to create clothes are flattering, fresh and playful and incorporate key seasonal trends. The collections are handcrafted in Nepal and India at Fair Trade certified co-operatives.
